The idea of resilience can be defined as the ability of a system, community, or society exposed to hazards to resist, absorb, adapt to and recover from the effects of hazards in a timely and efficient manner (UNISDR, 2011).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With more than half of the world&#8217;s population living in urban areas, the impacts of environmental degradation from climate change as well as the disruption of normal life are inevitable. These demands call for design innovations that cite to make cities more liveable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Several communities have launched design innovations as environmentally-conscious solutions. Ideas have also emerged through research collaborations and scientific discussion forums. The Department of Architecture organised one such idea through the International Conference on Sustainability in Architectural Design and Urbanism (ICSADU 2017) on Thursday-Friday (9-10\/8) at the Aston Hotel in Kota Lama, Semarang.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to being an international discussion forum, the works presented will be published in a scopus indexed journal proceedings. The Keynote Speakers were Prof Yoshida Tomohiko (Ritsumeikan University, Japan), Prof Kim Sae-Hoon (Seoul National University, Korea), Prof Tana Chirapiwat (Silpakorn University, Thailand) and Prof Gagoek Hardiman (Diponegoro University, Semarang-Indonesia).<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Semarang, dtap.undip.ac.id,- Resiliency in urbanism and architecture has become a topical issue in the 21st century.
