Directorate of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity of Universitas Diponegoro held a \u201cWorkshop on the Management of International Collaborations and Scholarships for International Students,\u201d inviting Vice Deans and officials from the International Affairs Offices (KUI) of all faculties at UNDIP. The event, held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 9:00 AM in the Dean\u2019s Building of the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP, focused on KUI\u2019s organizational structure (SOTK) and the management of international students at UNDIP. The workshop featured three speakers: Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc. IPU, Director of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity; Pulung Widhi Hari Hananto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Deputy Director of Partnership and Global Connectivity; and Abdul Rohman, S.Hum., Administrative Manager of the Directorate of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity.<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc. IPU, as the Director of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity (RPGC), officially opened the workshop. Presenting the topic \u201cThe Role of International Students in Supporting UNDIP\u2019s Reputation,\u201d he mentioned that PDLN administration and international education promotion, including on-site admissions and education fairs, fall under the Directorate of RPGC.<\/p>\n

Regarding UNDIP\u2019s ranking in the QS World University Rankings, UNDIP currently holds the #725 spot and aims to reach the top 500 globally. There are nine QS WUR evaluation indicators, one of which is the International Student Ratio, which needs to be enhanced in terms of student diversity from various countries. The Key Performance Indicators of the International Student Ratio include the number of Summer Course activities, the number of international degree students, and non-degree international students. \u201cWe conduct promotions in various countries to attract international degree students through exchange programs and scholarships. The number of non-degree students can be increased through internships and summer courses. This is our collective challenge to improve both quality and quantity,\u201d explained Prof. Hadiyanto.<\/p>\n

The second speaker, Pulung Widhi Hari Hananto, S.H., M.H., LL.M., Deputy Director of Partnership and Global Connectivity, discussed the new SOTK for the 2024-2029 academic period, referring to UNDIP Rector\u2019s Regulation No. 13 of 2024 on the Organization and Work Procedure of Units Under the Rector. International collaborations, internationalization programs, and overseas promotions are managed by the Partnership and Global Connectivity division, with quarterly supervision of work progress. Pulung stated, \u201cFor faculties, the International Affairs Office encompasses the reputation office and the internationalization office. We will also conduct faculty visits, and any difficulties can be communicated. We are open to all collaborations and dissemination.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following this, Abdul Rohman, S.Hum., Administrative Manager of the Directorate of RPGC, presented on \u201cManagement of Scholarships for Foreign Students at UNDIP.\u201d To date, the scholarship schemes offered by UNDIP include the Diponegoro International Student Scholarship (DISS) from 2020-2022 for undergraduate to doctoral students, the Diponegoro Master Scholarship (DIMAS) from 2020-2024 for master\u2019s students, the UNDIP Scholarship (US) from 2020-2024 for master\u2019s students, and the Diponegoro Exchange Experience Program (DEEP) for non-degree\/exchange international students. Additionally, scholarships provided by the Ministry of Education and Culture include the Developing Countries Partnership Program (KNB) for master\u2019s and doctoral students and the Darmasiswa RI Scholarship for non-degree international students focusing on language and cultural studies.<\/p>\n

As part of UNDIP\u2019s efforts to increase the International Student Ratio, joint measures are being taken to attract international students to pursue their studies at UNDIP. Abdul Rohman encouraged all workshop participants, \u201cLet\u2019s improve together. I ask for the help of study programs and faculty KUIs to collaborate in creating study program profiles in English to attract international students.\u201d He added, \u201cWe also propose the establishment of a UNDIP language center capable of facilitating language certification, hoping for positive news on this front.\u201d (Titis-Media Relations)<\/p>\n
