Pleburan, dtap.undip.ac.id, – Doctoral Promotion Session in the field of Architecture and Urbanism FT Undip was held at Building A of the Postgraduate School, Undip Pleburan Campus on Tuesday (18/7/17). The promovenda, who is a lecturer at UNS Surakarta, succeeded in contributing scientific findings as a theoretical treasure.
For Avi Marlina, the residential space in the Surakarta Kasunanan Palace has its own uniqueness, because in the residential space there is a gap between theory or concept and empirical field, so that in-depth exploration is needed. The transformation of profane-sacred spaces inhabited by nobles and courtiers cannot be separated from three things, dhawuh (orders), sak brayat (tradition of residence), and sengkeran (restrictions).
The findings contributed to the enrichment of spatial theories, including Rapoport’s setting theory, Habraken’s transformation theory and Laurens’ behavioural theory. Extraordinary appreciation was given by the Panel of Examiners consisting of the Dean / Chairman of the Session, Secretary of the Session, Promoter, Co-Promoter and Co-Promoter 2, the Internal Examiners as well as Prof Dr Ramli Rahim as an External Examiner from Unhas Makasar. In a decision read out by Dr Ir Atiek Suprapti, MT as Secretary of the Session, stated that Avi graduated cum laude with a GPA of 3.87 through a study period of three years and 10 months.
